Children at risk for developmental delays need services early in life to reach their full potential. Smart Start Rowan supports health care for uninsured children & pregnant mothers, prevention of tooth decay, and developmental screenings.
NAP SACC- Nutritional and Physical Self-Assessment in Childcare:
Provides child care centers and family child care homes with educational programs to improve the nutritional quality of food served, increase the amount and quality of physical activity, and enhance staff-child interactions. This program is designed to help set preschool children on a lifelong path to healthy eating and being active. More information coming soon.
Healthy Beginnings: Primary medical care for sick and well children who are uninsured or under insured and prenatal care for expecting moms who have no maternity insurance. Healthy Beginnings is provided in collaboration with the Rowan County Health Department. For more information call 704-216-8872.
ABCD: Assuring Better Child Health and Development: Assists local primary care physicians to enhance developmental screenings and referrals, thus encouraging further evaluation and services for children ages 0-5 years. Services provided by contracted Early Intervention Specialist, Lisa Edwards.
