Our Programs


Smart Start Rowan works to:

  • Build community wide awareness of the importance of quality early learning experiences both in the home and in organized early learning facilities;
  • Promote the activities and services provided by Smart Start Rowan;
  • Identify the needs of young children and their families;
  • Improve the quality of child care;
  • Make child care more affordable and accessible for parents;
  • Provide families with essentia information and resources;
  • Educate the community about the critical needs of young children
  • Provide services without bias to race, color, religion, age, nationality, gender, marital status, mental or physical ability or sexual orientation.

Smart Start Funded Programs:

Grant Funded Activities:

Dental Varnish Program provided in collaboration with local pediatricians to help prevent tooth decay in young children- Funded by The Blanche and Julian Robertson Foundation

Imagination Library:  A literacy program that provides a book per month for young children.  Funded through local donations.

Expanded child care resource and referral services for parents looking for child care for school age children.  Funded through a Regional Child Care Resource and Referral grant.
