What is More at Four?

The More at Four Pre-Kindergarten Program provides free high quality pre-kindergarten education for four-year-olds who may not have had the opportunities that prepare them for success in school.   The program is built on the belief that all children can learn if given the opportunity, but many children have not had the same level of opportunity as other children.   All More at Four Pre-K classrooms must meet specific standards designed to provide the kind of quality experiences that will best prepare four-year-olds for success in kindergarten.  Smart Start Rowan contracts with local child care providers and the local school systems to provide More at Four services for children in Rowan County. 

APPLICATION PROCESS
Your child must be 4 years old on or before August 31, 2008 (must be born on or before August 31, 2004). Children who are not currently enrolled in a preschool, childcare program, daycare or Head Start are prioritized. Eligibility is also based on income.
