About Us

We Work To:

Invest Smart Start funds secured through the state legislature, together with other grants and private dollars, to support programs to benefit children 0-5 and their families;

Serve as a catalyst to bring service providers together with at-risk populations for the sake of children;

Educate and advocate throughout our community for the critical needs of young children and families, forming collaborative partnerships which will develop creative solutions.

Child Care Specialist

Smart Start Rowan, a local nonprofit, seeks a Child Care Specialist whose duties include assisting family child care homes in improving quality, parent trainings, assisting the child care resource & referral department with projects related to serving child care providers and families, and may serve as the backup to our play group activity. BS/BA in ECE or related field, knowledge of Star Rated License & rating scales and exp. providing parent trainings a plus. Must be self motivated, detail orientated, w/ excellent communication, organization & interpersonal skills. Proficient in classroom management & implementing developmentally appropriate play activities for children ages 0-5. A clean driving record and use of your personal vehicle required.
